Flat, fast and forgiving — the island’s default long-run loop. Sea breeze the whole way, water at both ends.
Fastest loop on the island and the default long-run venue for half of Malé Runners. It is also the most crowded between 17:30 and 19:00 — go at dawn or accept the weaving.
Start at the Central Park water point and head east on the park path toward the beach — 400 m, wide and flat.
≈ 1.1 kmTurn left onto the beach road and keep the sea on your right for 2.4 km. The sand is firmest within a metre of the waterline.
≈ 2.1 kmAt the Phase 2 groyne stay on the paved promenade. The sand beyond it is soft and costs you roughly 20 s/km.
≈ 3.2 kmWater fountain at 3.6 km on your left — last one until 7 km. In this heat, take it even if you don’t want it.
≈ 4.2 kmFollow the promenade north-east for 1.8 km to the blue lifeguard tower. This is the exposed section: no shade after 07:10.
≈ 5.3 kmTurn inland at the tower onto the tree-lined avenue. Shade returns, and so does the sea breeze on your back.
≈ 6.3 kmCross the ring road at the signalled crossing at 6.8 km — the only traffic on the whole loop.
≈ 7.4 kmFinal 1.2 km back through the park to the start. Flat, wide and empty: this is where you open up if the legs have anything left.
