From the Sant Gregori roundabout head north on the GIV-5311. The first 2 km are false flat β resist the urge to spend anything here.
β 1.7 kmThe climb proper starts at the Rocacorba sign at 2.4 km. Gradient jumps to 7% and stays there.
β 3.4 kmHairpins from 4 km to 6 km, averaging 8.2%. Sit down, hold your number, and let the fast group go.
β 5.1 kmBrief respite at 6.8 km β 3% for about 400 m. This is the only place on the climb to eat.
β 6.8 kmFrom 8 km the road narrows and pitches to 9β11% through the trees. Loose gravel on the inside of the left-handers.
β 8.5 kmThe 10 km marker is where most people crack. Ramps of 12% for 300 m, then it eases to 8%.
β 10.2 kmLast 2 km opens above the treeline. Wind becomes a factor β it is usually a headwind on the final kilometre.
β 11.9 kmSummit at the antenna masts, 920 m. Descend the same road: brakes cool on the flatter middle section, not the hairpins.
